Born and lived in Penetanguishene, he was a beloved husband, cherished father and loving grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Lucille (n&eacute;e Genier) of 57 years, and his children, Anne Rutherford (Neil), Pierre (Tracy Palmer), Louise Read (George), Joan (Brian Jacques) and Paul (Jeffrey Prentice). He will be missed by his grandchildren Jenna Prout (Chris), &amp; Justus Rutherford, Laura Leaney, Jessie Therrien and Katrina Therrien. Dear brother of Stanley, Theresa Wilton (Wes), Clifford (Mary), Mickey (Suzanne), Marie Egli (Hans), Gary (Patsy), Diane, Pat (Louise), Catherine Smith (Don) and Leonard (Debbie). Allen is predeceased by his parents Leonard &amp; Alma and brothers Gordon, Orval &amp; Francis as well as his sister-in-law Eleanor and daughter-in-law Terry-Anne. He was employed at the local shoe factory for many years. Later was employed as a support staff for the Simcoe County District School Board for 25 years. Upon retiring he became a handyman for a local Barrister and Solicitor's office. His passion was to create beautiful art with his stonework. He was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus since 1964. Allen had a heart of gold, was always there to support and help his family and friends in any way needed and will be greatly missed. Visitation will be held at the Penetanguishene Funeral Home, 155 Main St., Penetanguishene on Friday March 28th from 2-4 &amp; -7-9 p.m. A funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Anne's Catholic Church, Penetanguishene on Saturday March 29th at 11:30 a.m. with light refreshments being served in the basement afterward. In lieu of flowers, by request, memorial donations may be made to the Simcoe Muskoka Regional Cancer Centre, St. Anne's Church or the Children's Wish Foundation. <br /> <br /></div>
