<div itemprop="description">Bell, Charles Ernest, His amazing journey on this earth came to an end on July 26th, 2016. Born in Toronto September 12th, 1923, he passed away at the Georgian Bay General Hospital. Charlie was the devoted husband of the late Delma Bell (née Hawke), best friend, father and mentor to two very grateful sons Gerald (Catherine) and John (Lori). Grandfather to Marc, Sarah, Josh and Rebecca and Great Grandfather to Sophia, Lucas, Sullivan, Alice, and James. Step Grandfather to Renee, Michelle and Sarah. Brother of Jack and the late Bill, Bert and Fred. Charlie served his country in WWII on the front lines in Italy and Holland. He was an active member of the Penetanguishene Legion. He came home from the war to marry Delma in 1948 where they started their family in West Hill and where he worked for Sun Oil Company until he retired. His family was his life, coaching many teams and working tirelessly for the 1st West Hill Sea Scouts for over 40 years. His favourite part time job was being Santa Claus at Cedarbrae Mall. Charlie was an "everyday hero", a man who worked hard, cared deeply and gave the best to the people in his life. "Dad, remembering you is easy, we do it every day but missing you is the heart ache that never goes away..." The family will receive friends at the Penetanguishene Funeral Home, 155 Main Street, Penetanguishene on Friday July 29th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A funeral service will be held in the chapel on Saturday July 30th at 11 a.m. Interment Coldwater Cemetery.
