Joseph Pinkitz
February 3, 1930 - June 25, 2013
Joe passed peacefully on June 25th, 2013. He is survived by his loving daughter Susanne and her husband John and their children, Andrew, Maggie and Chris of Portland, Oregon. He is predeceased by and now joins his wife, lifelong friend and partner in all - Suzy. Born in a small rural town in Austria near Klagenfurt, February 3, 1930, he faced much hardship during his younger years. Growing up during WWII, he faced many difficult and often dangerous challanges brought on by the war. It left him with an interesting perspective on the purpose and operation of governments, which he was often willing to share. These experiences helped to solidify his dreams of a better life. So in 1957 he immigrated to Canada. He arrived first in Canada and Suzy followed and together they did as all immigrants do: work hard in their adopted country. He and Suzy bought a laminating business that they ran successfully and finally expanded into a Plastic Injection molding company in Mississauga. Joe, with Suzy as a team, successful in business and made a good life for their family. He was much loved by his employees and they often became like family. Joe had a wonderful sense of humour that was with him until the end. He was a good man and will be sorely missed. A celebration of life service will be held at the Penetanguishene Funeral Home, 155 Main Street Penetanguishene on Wednesday July 3rd at 10:30 a.m., with services beginning at 11 a.m. A reception will follow at Joe's Favourite restaurant, the Olympia in Midland at 1 p.m.
